Dr. Joseph C. Mallet, Psy.D.

Dr. Joseph Mallet is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Coral Gables, Florida.  He is a consultant to Winhold Montessori School, Montessori Children’s House, and Montessori Children’s Academy.  He also maintains a successful private practice in Coral Gables, specializing in pediatric, adolescent and family psychology, with an subspecialty in parenting plan consultations.  He is also Certified as a Florida Supreme Court Family Mediator.

Dr. Mallet received his Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Berkeley/Alameda, California.  He also holds a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology from California State University, Hayward, and a Master of Divinity degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Theology in Houston, Texas.  He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Miami Children’s Hospital, Behavioral Medicine Program, Department of Neurology, and his post-doctoral work in the Department of Psychiatry and in private practice.

He provides diagnosis and treatment for many childhood and adolescent disorders and behaviors including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Leaning Disabilities, and parenting issues/family functioning.  He provides a full range of psychological and psychoeducational evaluations and testing for Learning Disabilities, Gifted placement, academic achievement and cognitive processing issues, including working memory deficits.

His clinical interests include healthy psychological development in children and factors influencing success in children, adolescents and families.  He is a dynamic speaker on topics including parenting and over-parenting, adoption issues and reactive attachment disorder, developmental concerns, disruptive behavior in children, ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional intelligence vs. academic intelligence, social skills, divorce, and factors influencing success in school age children.

Dr. Mallet is married and has two adult children.
